Requirements
-For appointment to the position of Member of Sports Disputes Tribunal, an applicant must be in possession of the qualifications provided under section 55 of the Sports Act of 2013;
- a) Be an advocate of the High Court of Kenya with at least seven years’ experience; and have experience in legal matters relating to sports or have been involved in sport in any capacity
- b) Be a member of a relevant professional body in good standing;
- c) Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity.
- Experience
- Have at least seven (7) years’ experience in legal practice or such experience in other relevant field.

Duties and Responsibilities
-A member of a tribunal shall discharge the following duties: -
- a) Participate in hearing and determination of all disputes which come before the full bench;’
- b) Recording proceedings in a clear and accurate manner;
- c) Approving, sign, issue and certify orders, decrees and certificates of costs and copies of proceedings;
- d) Writing awards, judgments, orders, rulings and decrees issued by the Tribunal;
- e) Support implementation of the Tribunals’ plans and programmes to achieve the Tribunals vision and mission.
- f) Provide requisite professional and technical support to ensure the Tribunal attains a high level of competitiveness and ethical standards in its entire programmes.
- g) Undertaking any other duty assigned for the benefit of the Tribunal

- (d) Names of three (3) referees; two (2) professional referee and one (1) character reference;
- (e) Copies of National Identity Card (I.D), Passport or any other relevant identifiable legal documents;
- (f) Copies of academic and professional certificates, testimonials and academic transcripts;
- (g) Applicant’s one (1) recent coloured passport size photographs
- (h) Shortlisted candidates shall be required to produce originals of their National Identity Card, academic and professional certificates and transcripts during interviews
- Successful candidates will be required to submit valid copies of clearance certificates from the following bodies on Appointment: -
- • Kenya Revenue Authority
- • Higher Education Loans Board
- • Directorate of Criminal Investigation
- • Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission
- • A recognized Credit Reference Bureau; and
- • Clearance from relevant professional body.
