Requirements
-For appointment to the position of Executive Director, an applicant must possess the following qualifications:
-1. A master’s degree in a relevant discipline from a recognised university
-2. A Bachelor’s degree in Law or Social Sciences from a recognised university
-3. At least fifteen (15) years previous working experience with at least five (5) years’ experience in a senior management position in a leading organization
- institution.
-4. Knowledge and experience in Public Sector, Partnership development and activities that are aligned with the NCAJ mission and vision
-5. Demonstrated success of effectively leading change, transformation and institutional
- organisational growth.
-6. Must be proficient in computer applications.
-7. Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity
Duties and Responsibilities
-Reporting the Chief Justice and Chairman of the National Council on Administration of Justice, the Executive Director will be responsible for the provision of the Council’s leadership and strategic direction and for the consistent achievement of its mission and objectives as laid out in its Strategic Plan. The key responsibilities will be as follows.
-1. Under the guidance of the Council, provide the policy and strategic leadership for the NCAJ
- 2. Oversee the administrative and operational and financial efficiency and effectiveness of the NCAJ Secretariat,
-3. Oversee and support the development, design and delivery of the Council’s Initiatives
-programmes and ensure that the goals and objectives are aligned with the NCAJ Strategic Plan.
-4. Oversee the development, implementation and reporting of the NCAJ Annual Budget , Work Plans, and expenditures
-5. Lead the execution of the NCAJ Strategic Plan and other institutional policies, rules and regulations
-6. Ensure and facilitate successful collaboration between the NCAJ Council, Technical Committee, Working Committees and other ad hoc Committees that may be set up by the Council for the effective delivery of the NCAJ mandate.
-7. Oversee the efficient and effective day to day operations of the NCAJ.
-8. Ensure internal audit procedures are conducted on periodic and regular basis to ensure integrity of the Council operations and data as well as implementation of recommendations.
-9. Be responsible for the management of staff, capacity building, motivation, performance management, policy formulation and implementation.
-10. Oversee the building of long term relationship with all the Justice Sector stakeholders and key development partners.
