Requirements |
-The applicant must possess the following minimum qualifications set out in Section 4 & 4A (b) of the Tax Appeals Tribunal (Amendment) Act No. 7 of 2022: |
-
a) A degree in law, business, finance, public finance, economics, insurance or related discipline from a university recognized in Kenya or any other relevant qualification from an institution recognized in Kenya; |
-
b) At least ten years’ experience in matters relating to the discipline referred in (b) above. |

c) Has met his |
-her tax obligations; |
-
d) Has not been convicted of an offence under any law |
-
e) Has not been adjudged bankrupt by a court of competent jurisdiction |
-
f) Is not a public officer or a tax agent; |
-
g) Has not at any time within the preceding five years been an employee of the Kenya Revenue Authority; |
-
h) Possesses high moral character and integrity in accordance with chapter six of the Constitution. |

Duties and Responsibilities |
-A member of a tribunal shall discharge the following duties: - |
-
a) Participate in hearing and determination of all disputes which come before the full bench;’ |
-
b) Recording proceedings in a clear and accurate manner; |
-
c) Approving, sign, issue and certify orders, decrees and certificates of costs and copies of proceedings; |
-
d) Writing awards, judgments, orders, rulings and decrees issued by the Tribunal; |
-
e) Driving the Tribunals vision and mission through the implementation of its Programmes and plans; |
-
f) Provide requisite professional and technical support to ensure the Tribunal attains a high level of competitiveness and ethical standards in its entire programmes. |

g) Undertaking any other duty assigned for the benefit of the Tribunal |

(f) Copies of academic and professional certificates, testimonials and academic transcripts; |

(g) Applicant’s one (1) recent coloured passport size photographs |

(h) Shortlisted candidates shall be required to produce originals of their National Identity Card, academic and professional certificates and transcripts during interviews |

Successful candidates will be required to submit valid copies of clearance certificates from the following bodies on Appointment: - |

• Kenya Revenue Authority |
-
• Higher Education Loans Board |
-
• Directorate of Criminal Investigation |
-
• Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission |
-
• A recognized Credit Reference Bureau; and |
-
• Clearance from relevant professional body. |
-
