Requirements
-Experience:
-
- The ideal candidate should;
- Have served for at least ten years as a professionally qualified magistrate; or attained at least ten years experience as a distinguished academic or legal practitioner or such experience in other relevant legal field;
- Demonstrated competence in the performance of administrative duties for not less than three years;
- Meet the requirements for appointment as a Judge of the High Court;
- Possess strong leadership and management skills;
- Have sound judgment and decision making abilities;
- Be proficient in computer applications
- Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution and be of high moral character, integrity and impartiality; and
- Training and experience in organizational
-business management
-administration will be an added advantage.
- Qualifications:
-
- Academic: Bachelor’s Degree in Law
- Professional: Advocate of the High Court of Kenya
- Specialist knowledge and attributes required:
-
- Knowledge and understanding of results-based management;
- Knowledge and understanding of Judiciary operations;
- Ability to manage change and transformation;
- Commitment to the implementation of Kenya Constitution 2010;
- Commitment to the Judiciary values;
- Commitment to public and community service;
- Ability to make decisions;
- Planning and coordinating skills; and
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Duties and Responsibilities
-Job Purpose:
- Under the direction of the Registrar, the Senior Deputy Registrar will deputize the Registrar in coordination of the judicial function of the Court.

- Responsibilities:
-
- The incumbent will:-
- 1. Coordinate the preparation of the Judicial calendar at national level for the Court;
- 2. Provide and enforce guidelines for the operation of the court registries;
- 3. Assist in the development of efficient case flow and work flow processes to facilitate smooth administration of justice at the Courts;
- 4. Coordinate the filing of monthly returns from the court stations;
- 5. Assist in the development of uniform procedures and processes for the management of high court stations in Kenya;
- 6. Assist in the coordination of legal research in the High Court to catalyze growth of jurisprudence and judicial practice; and
- 7. Oversee various programmes in the High Court as shall be assigned by the Registrar.
