Requirements
- (i) Possess a first degree in Information Technology or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
(ii) Possess a Masters degree in Information Technology or equivalent..;
(iii) Have at least 6 years experience leading an ICT function in a busy organization;
(iv) Possess an appropriate certification from a recognized institution
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct needs analysis of user requests and advice on the acquisitions or development of all applications and upgrades.
- Manage the installation of all applications.
- Coordinate implementation and training of all applications.
- Manage the customization of all applications.
- Manage the systems development life cycle.
- Prepare programs and systems documentation.
- Preparing training documentation and carry out the same.
- Advise on version and migration controls.
- Ensure that any relevant appropriate user licenses are maintained.
- Liaise with applications systems providers to ensure all upgrades are received and updated. Maintaining, tuning and troubleshooting all databases.
- Research on and applying supplier patches to the databases and ensuring that databases are at the same version and patch level.
- Provide ongoing database technical support to the Judiciary.
- Enact an aggressive backup strategy for all production databases.
- Develop and enforce database and OS-level security policies for data protection.
- Create and improve database administrative programs.
- Maintain contractual agreements with database providers, including licensing and support.
- Recommend optimal hardware configurations for new server purchases.
- Identify staff development requirements and advising Management.
- Allocate work to staff in the division.
- Appraise staff.
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Important Information
-Reporting to the Director, ICT the incumbent will provide leadership in Applications and Databases.

8. Have good interpersonal relations skills and be a team player;
9. Have the ability to work under minimal supervision;
10. Have clear understanding of the role of Judiciary in realizing the demands of the Constitution, Vision 2030 goals and other policy documents of the Judiciary;
11. Be a person of high integrity and ethical conduct;
12. Have strong leadership skills.
Possession of managerial skills in planning, budgeting and project management will be desirable for all these positions.
